Passion

My name is Farah Sun and I am the Director of the Enrichment Program at Chaoyang Kaiwen Academy. I have been living in China for over fifteen years.

I have a five-year old boy named Kaysan. Like every mother, I want the best for my child and aim to expose him to as many opportunities for nurturing his talents as possible. Kaysan has developed a passion for Ice Hockey and we have now added training after school and at the weekend with Kaiwen Sports. He also enjoys playing football, tinkering on the piano, and constructing machines.

Having a dual role as a mother and an educator, I understand the importance of developing my son’s literacy skills from an early age through reading. My son and I already had the tradition of reading two or three bedtime stories before bed as a way of developing his language and familiarity with words, as well as bonding together with a mutual passion for stories. Now that Kaysan is able to read himself, he also enjoys reading books to me in the evening.

My greatest expectation for my child is that he feels happy and confident every day to be able to always give his best within everything that he tries. As a loving parent, I trust that my son will make his own choices in life and that they will be the right choices for him.

My biggest advice to all moms would be to give your child space to grow and love learning. I have learned quickly that children do not like to be told what to do and would prefer the option of doing activities in their own time. If you follow their lead and allow them to focus on their interests and choose their own path, then this will lead to a harmonious and fruitful relationship between the two of you which will last a lifetime!

My Name is Shi Bo, Head of Secondary at Haidian Kaiwen Academy, I am also the mother of an eight year old child.

I still remember when I was a child, my mother was always busy, either working or doing housework at home, without a moment’s rest. Being a teacher and a mother now, I can now realize the hard work and busyness of her.

When a teacher is at work, he or she must show the greatest patience and love towards students, besides teaching well, he or she should also pay attention to the students’ physical and mental health and guide them to know the truth. After a long day at school, back home I usually get tired and have not much energy for my child. Many teachers have whole-hearted devotions to their students, as mothers we should care both students and our own children.

In my mind, mother has always been a loving, tolerant person that can set an example to influence the formation of children’s world perspectives. I hope that parents should pay more attention to themselves, live the life they desire and be a lifelong learner. They will be happy and enjoy every moment with their children!

Growth
I’m Pei Lei, Deputy General Manager at Kaiwen Academy. I Have two children. Most of the time I am busy at work, that means, as a mother, I have limited time for my children. In my view, the mother should not be simply a protector, she has multifaceted role. I wish I can establish a relationship with my children where I am a mother, teacher and friend.

Next, I will teach my children time management awareness and independent ability in action. Every morning, I get up at the same time with my children, dressed up and out of home together, come home from school, I remind them to finish their homework first, and tidy up their schoolbags for the next day; After work or in the holidays, I am a friend of them, we do games or sports together, I prefer the high-quality parent-child companionship.

Spending time with children can make me release pressure and face the future challenges at work in a more positive way.
